So for my natural disasters class we went on an all day field trip. We started at the Teton Dam and ended up...somewhere in Montana at Hebgen Lake. If you want I can post the specifics for each (or any) disater. Let me know.
top left = teton dam
top right = Henry's Lake
Bottom Left is Island park ( a very large Caldera and if you don't know what that means call me)
Bottom Right is a river coming out of the Quake Lake dam.
The following are all pictures from Earthquake Lake or Quake Lake and the surrounding area.Up above: Where the slide started.
Below: I'm standing on the gravel that slid off the mountain (the pic above is located accross the river where there are no trees in the below pic.)
The following is the scarp scar from the above disaster. (For those who don't know *cough Katie cough* A scarp is the exposed ground after an earthquake. This was our last stop at Hebgen Lake.
FYI: My Major is now GEOLOGY and I'm considering going into Volconology Seismatology Archeology. :) Of this trip i have over 150 pics.
PS 2 weeks of school left YEAH!

Cool stuff. I'll figure out what a caldera is one of these days.
